Travel Hurricane-Free with Continental Airlines Vacations

(EDINA, Minn., June 1, 2009) — With hurricane season just around the corner, Continental Airlines Vacations reintroduced the company’s hurricane travel policy, expanded to include any departure city and any destination impacted by a hurricane watch or warning.

In the event that a hurricane watch (or warning) is issued by the United States National Hurricane Center (www.nhc.noaa.gov) in a traveler’s departure city or destination, Continental Airlines Vacations customers will have the following options in addition to normal cancellation rules:

Rebook their vacation without penalty to another Continental Airlines Vacations destination and depart within seven days before or after original departure date.
Cancel their vacation and receive a gift card refund, valid for booking another trip within 60 days for travel anytime, based on availability. A $50 per person service fee will be assessed.

Travelers must cancel their existing booking before their scheduled departure date and time. It will be the travelers’ responsibility to pay the difference if the rebooked vacation costs more than the original vacation; Continental Airlines Vacations will issue a gift card valid for one year for the difference if the rebooked vacation costs less than the original vacation.

“Continental Airlines Vacations travelers can book with confidence, knowing they will have an opportunity to change their destination or travel dates if the weather is not cooperating,” said Ken Pomerantz, president and chief marketing officer for Continental Airlines Vacations. “And when they do go on vacation, wherever they decide to go, they are sure to have a great time.”

In response to the recent news of an influenza outbreak, Continental Airlines Vacations is providing the following options for customers traveling to Mexico between April 27 – May 31, 2009:

Customers who have purchased Travel Protection may cancel their trip up to the moment of departure. Customers will receive a full refund in the form of a travel voucher valid for one year from the date of issue.
Customers without Travel Protection have the following options:
1. Receive a refund less normal cancel fees.
2. Rebook without penalty to another destination for departure within 21 days before or after the original departure date.
3. Cancel and receive a refund, in the form of a travel voucher, good for booking another destination within 60 days, for travel anytime. A $50 per person service fee will be assessed.

Terms and Conditions:
Customers must cancel the existing booking before the scheduled departure date and time. Changes to vacation itineraries may result in a difference in price. Any price increase will be the responsibility of the customer; any price decrease will be refunded in the form of a travel voucher. This policy does not apply to group travel customers.
